plan...

so it has been awhile since posting here. a lot going on in and out of game. i have made a few upgrades to my Hunter and also have a few upcomming soon.

i have a plan, and evil master plan, a plan to become the best BM Hunter on Gul'dan. this is and has been a goal of mine from the time of creation. i have learned a few new things as of late. got a new shot rotation going into affect tonight in Kara, i hope to see a small boost in over all DPS and a major improvement in mana conservation. i feel i may have to teach a few Hunters in my guild the value of chain trapping and just how important it is to a successful Kara raid. we are CC in Kara as much as you like or dis-like it, it is what it is. l2chain trap. learn you CD's early, make a pull macro, then...practice. once all this is in place you can hear ppl say to you as they have to me...

player A "oh sweet you are survival spec Hunter"

Jagermaster "nope, not 1 point in surv. i am 41/20/0"

player A "o.O how do you trap so well then?"

Jagermaster "chain trapping. i pride myself on it =)"

then ppl will come to you and ask you to CC for Heroics, Kara whatever. once you learn chain trapping life as a hunter becomes so great. you will see a huge difference in you game play and the way ppl look at you.

Why...

why do i strive to be the best Hunter i can be very well knowing i will never be a BRK or a Megatf? for myself and my guild. that simple. i have a bunch of RL friends in my guild and i want all of us to succeed, but i feel sometimes like i am fighting a losing battle. what do i mean? well...that is a little tougher to explain than i would like it to be (and take more time than i am willing to put out atm). i am the Hunter class officer for my guild. this means people come to me with questions or ideas right? nope or if they do they do not just come out and say it. i also lead the raids for Kara 75% of the time when i am in a raid. this is a good thing right? maybe not as much as i would like it to be. it seems that i am having issues as the leader of my raid. what are the issues? i am not totally sure to be honest. i guess i have either been unclear or mislead my raid. however i never know about this until after the raid is over and i get a tell from someone not even in the raid. i am told ppl try to tell me what i am or am not doing and i don't listen or am too passive, but i don't even remember these things taking place. maybe i have failed my guild leader and guild as a Officer, i sure feel as though i have. how can i lead a class or a raid if everyone is afraid to talk to me for what ever reason. how can i ask ppl to follow me into battle if they can not trust me or have faith in me to make judgements in the best interest of the group or party. how can i do this with a sound mind if i have the little voice in the back of my mind asking me "would your superior approve of my actions?". i need to be trusted by my superiors and by those that follow me into battle, every leader needs this or they can not lead to victory for very long. i know i would follow my leader into certain failure knowing that they have made the correct choice and i would do my best to be sure we did not fail. also if i thought things were going bad for whatever reason i would let my leader know and maybe even give some advice. i would like to get this from those that go into battle with me.

i believe i am being asked to run another raid this week. i will be sure to have all ground rules laid out before i start and i will also be sure to know exactly what it is that is expected from me. we will just have to see how things go...

PTR Buffs?....

i don't think so. you tell me....

"Hunter

Equipping a thrown weapon while in the middle of an Auto-Shot will no longer cause animation issues.

Casting Flare while in any way not visible, will no longer cause your flare to be invisible to other players.

Hunter’s Mark: Hunters with Improved Hunter’s Mark will now properly overwrite Hunter’s Mark cast by Hunters without the talent.

Improved Mend Pet now has a 25/50 chance to remove one Curse, Disease, Magic, or Poison effect, up from 15/50%.

Multi-Shot: This ability will no longer strike any secondary targets which are under the effect of crowd-control spells that break on taking damage. i.e. Polymorph, Sap, etc.

The stamina tooltip for hunter pets will now display the proper health increase.

Track spells will now persist after death.

Hunters will no longer spin around if they cast Aimed Shot or Steady Shot while facing away from their target. "

this does not look like buffs to me. so they are letting us us Multi-shot in more situations now, Whoopie!! like mana was not bad enough as it is now but they let us use another shot and they are changing how mana regen works. thank you for making raiding more costly in regards to mana pots.

and WTF is up with the Imp mend pet?!?!?!?!? i thought it was gonna be 50/100% after patch? now it will be 25/50% from the old 15/50%, nice so for 1 lvl i will have 10% more. but this does me no good as i am already 70 and already have 50% chance...GG

but hey atleast when i equip a throwing weapon in the middle of auto shot my animation will be ok....

enough venting for now, back to work and farming so i can make gold to buy matts for pots =(

not so much...

Kara started out really well on Wdd. but Blizzard decided after we took out Attumen and Moroes to Server crash on us. so wed we were done early. Friday is here time to own everything in Kara right? wrong! we had 5 melee classes for DPS which means no maiden. only 2 healers (pally and Priest) both uber and great, but this left me and 1 other shadow priest to CC, no biggie... we decided to skip Maiden and go straight to Opera, OH NOES!!!! we got Oz. 1st try wipe, 2nd try not one death. we did it so smothly it was awsome. and guess what Drops??? yup Legacy (i already have) but no other Hunters in the group so it went to our Healadin so he could grind with =). then we tried Curator, again we had nice DPS but just not enough healing for the damage, and i think some melee pulled off the 10th flare early as it was the only flare that got into melee range of myself. ohwell no worries. we will go back tonight and own Curator, Shade, Chess, and Prince all 1 shot....i hope.

tonight we ROCK Kara...

tonight we go back into Kara after a few needed days off from raiding. last week as you may have read we did not do as well as usual as Shade just had our #. this week i have all elixirs all pots a full quiver of the best possible DPS arrows i can get, we will succeed this week, we will down them all, i will get Sunfury. i am however not sure if i will be running the raid or not. if i am i will be doing things a little different as too switching in and out of toons. if we do not succeed it will not be because i or any of my raid members did not give there 100% best effort. this will be our week, this is our time, time to unleash the power that is Power Unrestrained upon the evil that lurkes within Kara.

i will again try to run DPS meters so i can do a good evaluation of my DPS and to show you the massive power of MQoSRDPS that is the BM hunter.

just not our week...

well, we went into Kara again last night and....

we decided to try Nightbane first. 1st attempt was not bad, under 50%. 2nd not as good, but hey....we tried. so on to Shade...

Shade had our # this week. we got him to 6% and no DPS class left alive. he targeted the healers so much they had to heal themselves and thus we died. he decided to take our Kammer before i could ever blow Bestial Wrath or tank a water elemental. 2nd attempt we got him to around 25%. no clue as to how he kicked our fannys so bad 5 times this week but he did. so on to Prince?

Nope. we had 2 people that had to go, one being the tank and the 2 replacements on the sign up list were not on line. so we called it. better luck next week.

i really want to get Sunfury so i can take a break from DPS'ing in Kara. i think it is starting to get to me on how i do so much DPS. don't get me wrong i love the DPS i do, just sometimes i feel like i am doing most the work, and then when a boss does not go down at 6% i feel like i have failed in doing my part..."if i had kept my pet alive for BW, maybe if i used that last Agility Elixir, maybe if i had gotten those PvE bracers, maybe we could have downed him" i feel as if i have failed my raid as a raid leader and Hunter. if i don't use the maximum DPS arrows, if i don't use the Agility Elixirs, if i don't use my CD's, if my pet dies then i have failed in doing my part as a dealer of MQoRDPS. i take full responsibility for our in-ability to take down Shade this week. i make a promise to not let this happen again. i will have all necesary pots & Elixirs for next week.

til next time...

unable to get screenys...

i was unable to get any good screen shots of the DPS meter due to the fact that we had ppl switching out toons alot for certain boss fights. i think next team i lead i'm gonna set a rule in place that we roll with one toon unless absolutly needed to get past a certain boss. like we only have 1 tank for Moroes and we need a 2nd type thing. but on fridays run i was dead for most of the 3 attempts on Shade and at the end of the night i was still on top with 21.32% of total raid DPS followed by our wonderfull Affliction Warlock whom had 16.68% raid DPS. that is about 4.5% DSP difference between 1st and 2nd!?!? help me out here guys. i'm affraid that if i ever want to take my shaman in place of my Hunter we may not have enough DPS to down some bosses, and ppl already want to start switching ppl out for ppl with greens. this is a good idea to better gear the guild (which i am all for) but we need to be sure we can handle what we are doing. i am sure that Attumen, Maiden, and maybe even Moroes (given good CC) we will be fine, but after that Opera, Curator, Shade, Prince (whom we have only downed once mind you) will be a lot tougher not impossible, just tougher. i don't want ppl going in thinking they are gonna be able to see Prince their first week then only to be disapointed and have a big repair bill. i think some ppl are getting a little relaxed when it comes to Kara and we really need to keep on our toes and keep our edge going if we think we are going to do Grull's or even ZA sometime soon. we still have ppl that are not even done or have not started their Kara attunment yet. i think i will be a little bit more strict on chatter and being ready (reagents, pots, ammo, and other goodies) i still want ppl to have fun but when the raid starts i want us to be on the ball not trying to catch the ball. we have a good group going on our 8pm runs and i think with just a little more structure we could easly get to and down Prince in 2 of our 3 raid nights.

well back to work for now and see you for Shade & Prince tonight :::on knees praying for Sunfury:::

Kara time

well tonight is first night this week for Kara. I will be running my DPS meter to monitor my personal DPS as i have made some changes and need to see how this will impact my over all DPS. I am also running the DPS meter to show just how well a BM Hunter can do in Kara. we will proly only be taking down Attumen, Moroes, Maiden, Opera & maybe Curator. so on the AoE pulls to Moroes i will be down to 2nd maybe 3rd over all DPS, but rest assured i will be back at the top shortly after. i really am looking forward to the day where another DPS either passes me on the night for total DPS. this will take some of the load off me so i can maybe not have to spam shots and eat mana pots as if they were going out of style. getting pricey making all these pots and i even have a 375 potion master Alchemist. well once we down Prince again and i hopefully win Sunfury i can then start healing with my Shaman in Kara and start my PvP research for Jagermaster. well back to work for no, talk to you all L8ERs.

time time...

i wish i had a little more time to do my research on PvP, but soon i will.

my guild Power Unrestrained took down Prince lastnight in Kara for the first time. man was that a great feeling. sadly no Sunfury =/. not to mention the other hunter that was there was all kinds of ready to roll on it when he is afk half the time in the raid (or atleast it seems that way when he is just standing there during a pull not even auto shotting) i am one of the main forces of CC with my traps in Kara and i still manage to pull in 20-24% of the total raids DPS each week. he is also a major form of CC with his traps but has not once broken 10.42% total raid DPS. i am 41/20/0 BM Kara spec Hunter, he is a 0/48/13 MM spec. i am not going to tell him how to spec or how to play his toon, but it saddens me to know that he could be doing about 8-10% more DPS if he would change a few things. and in turn changing these things would only greatly progress the guild in our raiding endevours.

i will try and remember to take a screen shot of the DPS meters and post them just for the sake of showing you what a 41/20/0 BM Hunter of MQoRDPS can do. til then talk to you soon =).

Been awhile...

Been awhile but i'am back. i had a tooth pulled on friday so a little loopy on the Vicodin =)

i have decided to base most my research on BG's as i am not all that into Arenas. a few reasons.
  1. I have no steady Arena team, i am in a great fun 5v5 but we rarley do any arenas.
  2. I'am not in a 2v2, would like to but i don't have a solid semi-healer partner for them
  3. I have a 3v3 but i don't even know the other ppl in it, proly gonna quit this team
  4. I LOVE BG's

so i will let you go for know, however once i get some findings i will post them.

things are getting a little busy IRL but i will be here.

what would you like to know about more?

a) BM Hunter in BG's

b) BM Hunter in Arena

there is a lot of info out there and i will more than likely post on both but would like to focus on one at a time. thank you

3 different ways to be a BM

ok, i got my cold pizza, got my Pepsi, and got my Monster....let's BLOG!!!!

note: at the end of this post we will link you to the site from which we got this info that goes into detail for each spec further than we do.

let's talk about the 3 different variations of the Beast Master Hunter for raiding (we will talk about BM PvP in a few weeks).
first let's talk about the MM side of the famed 41/20/0 BM spec. the MM side never changes. you can mix this up a bit if another Hunter in the raid have Imp Mark then go for Efficiency. but be sure to let him/her Mark the kill target.

ok now for the 3 different 41 points in BM...

so your running 5mans getting your Kara key, working on rep this is the recommended spec for BM Hunters...

ok so now you got your Kara key, got some decent gear and are ready to raid...time to respec =)

w00t ! ! ! your guild is owning Kara and you are ready for 25man raids. this is where things change. your pet will die just a fact of life, but you need him in there for his uber pet DPS buffs. this is what we recommend...

so as you can see there are many different ways to perform in PvE as a BM Hunter. ofcourse these may not be perfect for you and thats fine, maybe BM is not for you. is that ok? sure. are we going to tell you that you are wrong? not any more =). if you ask me.. "why am i not putting out the DPS that i should?" i'm going to look at 2 things. 1) Gear. 2) spec. that is just what i will do and then i will give my advice and point you to this Blog and to BRK (link on side bar). speaking of links, i promissed a link to where i got this info that also has more detailed explanations...
Happy Hunting

ok so here we go!

as you can see i have got my header looking sweet =). i like it a lot and i hope you all like it as well. so a little about myself and how i came to the Hunter....

when i started playing WoW 2.5 years ago i stsrted a Dwarf Hunter by the name of "Halbgott". he was great. solo'ing was fun, teaming was fun, but something was missing. so when i convinced a few friends to play WoW with me and another friend we switched to the Horde (w00t!) and i rolled a Orc Warlock "Damonisch" (first to 60). then i did some server hoping to try out the whole 40man raid thing, and try some other stuff but again something was missing. this time i knew what was missing...friends and the Hunter. so i came back to my friends and played my Warlock and a Orc Shaman named "Tuurgin" as i secretly leveled my Hunter "Jägermeister" (german for Huntermaster). once Jager hit 60 i spent alot of time in AV, WSG, AB to get the full HWL set, which lasted me to lvl 69 til i replaced the first piece and the last piece at 70. i then got in Power Unrestrained and was home with family again.

while at lvl 60 in BG heaven i was speced MM/Surv and it was grest fun. however i knew that BM was the best choice for lvl'ing. so when the time came to lvl i went BM, and saw something wiered in my character window... my DPS went up a flat 5 and my crit was the same. but how can BM give more DPS then MM? i mean MM is the DPS spec right? a little talent called "Serpent's Swiftness" increases attack speed by 20% of me and my pet. ZOMG!!!! are you serious? awsome! and then the end all be all talent point "The Beast Within"
did you read that? "While enraged, you do not feel pitty or remorse or fear and you can not be stopped unless killed" ZOMG!!!!! this is the best thing ever!!! and since lvl 60 i have never looked back. now i know BM is not for everyone and some love the MM and some live by the Surv, but i am BM all the way and this Blog will reflect that. any way I am happy to be home with my friends and family at Power Unrestrained.
back to WoW =)

this is going to be the place that i will spill knowledge and power out for all you Hunters and Hunter friends to soak in. i will try to post here at least once maybe twice a week. my spelling and grammar will be worse on some days than others, so please bare with me. i will try to keep it fun and informative at the same time.

this will be a heavy Beast Master blog as you can tell from the title "Teh Beast Within". i will try to post about the Hunter in general, but it is my blog =). so please check back soon and have fun reading.

thank you
